But if that's accurate, it implies that the 70-200 2.8
is actually much faster than 2.8, at the 70mm end,
when you are viewing (before taking the picture).  And
I don't think that's really the case.  I think the
actual diameter of the aperture must vary as you zoom
to maintain a constant 2.8 aperture.
