 Hi Howard,
 
 My suggestion would be to have the lens examined by a competent repair shop. 
They
 can answer your questions and, perhaps more importantly, tell you whether 
what
 you're seeing is "dust" or fungus. Fungus will, of course, destroy any 
coating
 and eventually etch the glass, requiring the element be replaced. The 
earlier you
 catch it, the better.

I am pretty sure it is just dust...looks that way to me....and I just bought 
it in 'like new minus' condition from KEH.  Not that that is a total 100% 
guarantee, but they are a pretty respected outfit.  It was also 5 weeks ago, 
so it would seem a bit suspect if I called them about it now, though the lens 
was used only once.
