I have and my experience is -- don't expect the CP filter to do anything 
positive for you regarding the glare from the flash. Also, recall the CP's 
filter factor when setting the flash unless you're using a TTL/OTF mode.

The best way to reduce/eliminate the flash's glare is to use a bracket to 
move the flash away from the lens and add the appropriate cable from flash 
to camera if you need to retain TTL/OTF. Adding a flash modifier, like a 
soft box or umbrella will help massage the glare too. Keep in mind that 
professionals who specialize in car shots can spend up to a DAY setting up 
myriad lights, gobos, flags, etc just to manage glare & hot spots.
