Hi all-
I went to two local camera shops this weekend (the midwest, USA) and asked
about the new lens. (One didn't even know about it yet.) The other was,
and said he usually buys Canon gear at half the MSRP. ($1,500 USD) From
there, he thinks he will sell it for $1,799 USD. That's exactly 25% more
than the original that this place sells for $1,350. Now I realize local
shops are higher than B&H, for example, but this is quite a bit less than
the $2,000-2,400 USD figure that was thrown around a few days after the
press release.
Do you think it's reasonable that mail-order prices will be around $1,500
or $1,600 USD for this lens? (about 300-400 more than the original)
