The hood on the 50/1.8 (both of them) can be tricky when you need to
pull
it off with only one hand. My bag is usually full so I need to put the
hood in the
reversed position when putting it a away or changing lenses. I would
vote for the
bayonet mount style of hood any day. The 100/2 works the same as the
50/1.8's but
does not use the adapter ring, and the hood for the 100/2 seems to be
of a heavier
build so when you "squeeze" it, it holds it's shape and will fit over
the barrel
of the lens. The 50/1.8 is made a lot weaker so it bends out of round
when one
is trying to squeeze it with one hand. I usually need one hand to
squeeze it and
use the other hand to squeeze it at the opposite points to counter act
the bending
from using only one hand. Kind-a finicky.
