These would have to be matched individually for each
digital camera body and lens combination, since chip-sizes
vary widely and lenses differ in design and performance.
Each additional glass surface adds image quality issues,
the performance of our imaginary 1/1.6x converter will vary
depending on the lens used, and it also looks like the
economics of scale work against a dedicated converter for
the D30/17-35 combo.
