What's wrong with that? Canon and Nikon and Minolta, etc all offer
different film cameras with different features for different users.
Having a D1, D3, D7, etc isn't any different. It makes perfectly sense
to have a line of digital bodies.
Having a D1RS and D1V doesn't change that. We already had a 1nRS and
1n. Nothing different here. Also nothing different in the Nikon camp.
As a matter of fact, producing a high fps digital camera involves more
then producing a high fps film camera. So making two different bodies
makes even more sense then for the 1nRS and 1n.
Confused about the naming of the D70 and D7? I wouldn't worry about
that as these are cameras that are supposed to come out in one year.
Lots can change in that time. As a matter of fact, I don't even believe
that anybody knows what cameras will come out in one year. It seems
like Canon tries hard not to let any information about new equipment
going out before the official annoucement. In that regard I would even
be careful with the other specs given. But considering that these
bodies probably already exist and the fact that Canon is behind with
pro digital cameras makes it not unbelievable that the info is actually
true. We'll know in a couple of months...
