I detect sarcasm here ;>)
I've frequently shot birds at 20 feet with an 800mm f5.6 IF-ED Nikkor using a flash
and extender for fill. While I have not had the EF600/4L IS long enough to get around
to doing so, I plan to use a 550ex in the same manner with it. I mounted the Nikon
flash up on the hood itself. I have not decided
whether to drill the hood of the Canon in the same manner or use the 550ex on the hot
shoe.
