Hi folks,
My high school's newspaper, of which I'm photo editor, is hoping to be
approved on a grant from the committee in charge of schoolwide testing
"reward" money. What this means is the school scored well on the California
SAT-9 tests, and we got a half a million dollars to use for making the
school a "Digital High School". I decided a few days ago that it might be
time to get rid of the Macintosh LCIII's we're using with Adobe PageMaker
3.0 (ahh, the joys of public school) and look for a grant or two to get new
equipment. My advisor asked me to research another digital camera to acquire
for the paper in addition to our Nikon CoolPix 800. I looked around and
thought the PowerShot G1 looked really nice. The one feature which I think
sold me was the hot-shoe. I can use my Speedlite 420ez to extend the range
of the flash a thousandfold. Anyways, what do you all think of this camera?
Does anyone here have extensive experience with it? Please let me know what
you think. Thanks!
