I would say unlikely with this lens as the loaner EOS-3 camera / EF100-400
lens combo from Canon exhibit the same problem.

I'm now thinking of PB-E2 as a possible solution, on that note, the 1V
literature indicates increased AI Servo AF performance with the addition of
PB-E2 with some specific improvements identified, but I can't find any such
mention in the EOS-3 literature, does such specification of AF improvement
exist for the EOS-3?
