It shouldn't do would be my opinion. If the flash is set to give coverage to
an 80mm focal length, it will put out light to cover that area just as it
would if you were using a film camera.

Now if you had the flash set at 50mm to match the "real" focal length, that
might be a different story-suck it and see! :o)
