Sure, there are negatives, but we just let them "slide!" But seriously folks, the 28-135 isn't the fastest or compactest lens in the world, but IS does make up for some of the speed. If you're really critical, you will see a bit of barrel distortion at the wide end, and a bit of softness at the long end. Other than that the 28-135 is a wonderful lens, I really enjoy mine.
