Plusses:
1) exceptional compatibility with lenses and flashes
2) highly reliable
3) battery life is quite good with battery grip and two batteries
4) camera handling very familiar to EOS users
5) great quality (not as good as a well-done and properly scanned
35mm slide, but it definitely goes to 8x10 without a problem)

Minuses:
1) autofocus is frustratingly slow compared to my EOS 3
2) my D-30 seems to underexpose by 1/2 stop consistently
3) flash exposures aren't as good as with the EOS 3

Bottom line:
My D-30 has made several overseas trips (I'm a dedicated amateur) and
the camera has recorded almost 12,000 shots so far. I use a
Microdrive and am very happy with it. I don't regret buying it for
one minute.

Could it be better? Yes.

But I could be more handsome and wealthier and yet my wife still loves me, too.
