  Someone on the IR mailing list suggested adhesive-backed mylar in a 
satin black finish. They also said that they found this material at a 
hobby shop. I've never tried this myself, but if it works for you, 
please let us know!

  My only concern would be the need to replace it over time as it 
probably scratches more easily than a painted metal pressure plate. 
And it might be difficult to remove without bending or otherwise 
damaging the plate.

  Not a bad price for a camera that can take EF lenses. :) Admittedly 
it doesn't have TTL flash as well as no AF, and its interface is a 
bit weird - it's the only EF-compatible camera that lacks both a 
topdeck LCD and a main dial by the shutter release, I think. But it's 
pretty easy to use, especially if you grew up with manual cameras 
from the 70s and 80s.
