I own 24/2.8, 35/2, 50/1.8mkI, 100/2 and 200/2.8
Canon fixed focal length lenses but have never
really tested the quality.

Anyhow, I feel they are very good but seldom use
them wide open. In general, stopping down one
stop makes wonders (with any lens). Some weeks ago
I was louping one 35/2 slide at about f4 and it was
very sharp and contrasty (in a positive way) indeed.

Yes, I *have* used them wide open but haven't noticed
anything special (except light fall-off in corners
which gets worse when the max aperture increases and/or
focal length gets shorter; I think 50 and 35 at least
are not very good in *this* respect).

But I'm very satisfied with these lenses and even if
Canon prices here are very high I got some of the
lenses quite cheap secondhand.
