Send it to Horizon Electronics. Their fix is a permanent fix which disables
the lock button (the primary cause of the mode dial failure), and it doesn't
cost any more than Canon's fix (which is to replace the top panel
altogether). They can also reprogram the A2/A2E so the exposure scale will
be displayed in Metered Manual exposure mode while you're at it for a little
extra.
