I've used my old 100mm Canon macro with very pleasing results of
landscapes and portraits. The only complaint I ever got was from a woman
who I did a portrait of, she complained that the lens brought out all the
pores and marks on her face... its a very sharp lens and a diffuser might be
a good thing if you have very touchy subjects (or ugly subjects :) ).
