I'm thinking about adding a wide-angle prime to my collection, since my
24-85 isn't fast enough for many occasions. I thought about the Canon
28/2.8, but it's only half a stop faster than the 24-85 at the wide end, and
I don't want to spend the extra cash on the 1.8 version. Then I noticed
that Sigma has two 28/1.8 lenses, both of which seem to be highly regarded
on photographyreview.com, and they're both quite cheap.

Does anyone have either the 28/1.8 II Aspherical or the newer 28/1.8 EX DG
Aspherical Macro? How do they perform? Is there a significant optical
difference between the II and the EX? It seems like the EX is larger and
slightly more expensive, but all things being equal, I'd rather go for the
smaller lens.

TIA,
Alex
