That can be solved by removing part of the mount dents. The camera is
expecting a combination of: a switch pased to the closed position (located
under the mount) AND electronic communication with the (expected) lens.
Pasing the switch without a lens (as with an extension tube or extender)
will block the camera.

Just remove a piece of the mount 'dent' (with a dremel or other power tool)
and you're all set.

I did it to mount a bellows with EF Extension tubes. I took the smallest
(12mm) and performed the changes. Now I can use the whole set (92mm) for
further extension. The 12mm won't work with EF lenses any more.

To locate the switch, look under the camera mount at about 10 o'clock in
horizontal position.

Warning!!!: Don't modify the 2x teleconverter. It won't work with EF lenses
if the switch is not passed for the reasons given in the first paragraph!!
