<I think, only the new series super tele lenses have carbon fiber composite <hoods like the EF 400 2.8L II and all of the L class IS lenses 2.8 and <faster. Both of the EF 300 2.8L lenses I have owned and all of the series I <lenses like the EF 400 2.8L and EF 600 4L used some type of metal for the <hoods.
I'v heard that the metal is magnesium. Don't know if it's true...
