Ethan,

The D-30 does get to have a little noise at 400, and at 800 it is quite
noticable.  I do not think that a large print could be made from the ISO
400 setting...I have not tried this.  Most of what I shoot is lit and I
shoot mostly at 100, ocassionally at 200, 400 or 800...but not too much.

I do understand what you are saying about the noise after hearing how you
were shooting.
