I see well what You mean. My two EOS-1 bodies have been carrying 
these protections for years now. At first, in a pre-CPS era, I got 
mine from a colleague who was covering Motorcycling World Circuit 
Championship. I was too, at that time, but I did not attend the Japan 
Grand Prix in Suzuka, where Canon used to give away these terrific, 
effective, sealings. Later on, I could get some spare pieces just 
calling Canon Europe in Amsterdam. They were so kind to rush-mail 
them to me. It should not be that difficult to get Yours. If You need 
references,(which is, I think, unlikely) tell them You are a coworker 
of mine, and address them to my website...
