That's a great article/review on the Sigma 180 f/3.5 EX Macro Darrell, and excellent macro shots too. Something I can strive for, for sure. Santa brought me a Sigma 180 macro for Christmas and I am thoroughly enjoying it, although in my neck of the woods there's not a heck of a lot of subjects or color out there this time of the year to use a macro lens on. While I have to get a lot more experienced with the lens, and macro in general, I think the Sigma is going to work out very well for me; and with it's extra reach, it'll be nice to allow a little added distance between the lens and the subject under some conditions. I recently bought an ML-2 ringlite to see how that's going to work but feel my original set up of a RRS flash arm to move the 550EX out farther toward the end of the lens may prove to be the ticket for good flash coverage, although it's a little ungainly to tote around that way. It's really nice in any case that the Sigma comes equipped with a tripod mount. One pro, or pro-level member of this List advised me that the Sigma was clearly better in sharpness over the Nikkor 200 macro (micro ?) and probably as good as the EF 180 f/2.8 so I'm anticipating some nice results when I improve my technique.
