Having worked at Nikon still about four months ago (before starting my own business) I can assure you that these whitish gray lenses DO exist. They were at first ment fot the Japanese market only, but after the interest risen all over the World they desided to bring them out elswhere, too. In the States, I believe, they are available for special order only but in some countries in Europe and in Japan they should be "regular" prducts. This, however, is not 1++% sure. Here in Finland, last autumn situation was that they were not "stock items" but we thought them to become such later on.
