Hi RS,

The discussion was started by the mention of long white lenses seen in an
X-Box game not a low-end consumer camera and lens nor a short 28-70 2.8. In
my response I said lenses in current production meaning, common, mass
produced, standard items that a regular local store would normally keep in
stock (Henry, B&H and B&H class stores are not regular stores by any means
IMO, I only wish it were so). I'm in the USA and just had a look at the USA
Nikon Inc. website and there are no light grey super telephoto lenses
pictured on this site in the lens section. There is a mention at the bottom
of the new AF-S ED II super tele lens descriptions (starting with the 300
f/2.8 through 600 f/4), that say that you can special order this lens in
"light grey." These are not what I would call regular production items but
"special order only" items as Nikon's site describes them.

Regards,

Chip Louie
