  You probably mean the 550EX.

  If you're using type A camera bodies such as the Rebel 2000, EOS 3 
or Canon digital cameras you'll want an EX series flash unit since 
they support E-TTL flash metering. The older EZ flash units support 
only TTL and A-TTL, which is less desirable for you since they don't 
work with Canon's digital cameras and don't support useful features 
like FEL (flash exposure lock).
