I am considering purchasing a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lense and Canon
2X II converter to be used with a Canon EF 17-35mm f/2.8 lense for general
photography and travel.

I would like to know what comments the the users of this lense have at this
point.

Do you find yourselves using a monopod often? What specific conditions
require a monopod?

Since this lense has been out for a while were/are there any bugs in its
operation? Is it "safe" to buy one at this time?

Recently I was able to shoot with the Canon 35-350mm and Canon 100-400mm IS
lenses for size and weight comparison. The photos were satisfactory.
However I feel the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS will be a more versatile
lense although heavier and more expensive.

TIA,

Take Care,

Collyer
