Hi Jan,

It has no such problems in Canon's, as far as I know. I have one that i Have
used with Elan II's and D30, it is my regular lens when I take only one
lens. I also own 28-135, and 28-105 Canon's. I would not say it flares more
then 28-135. Flare has not been a thing that bothered me, esp. it comes with
a hood and i use it all the time.

The AF works very quickly and silently, and of all the lenses, I love the
wide manual focus ring on this camera, and use it very extensively when I am
in a dark ballroom. The clutch mechanism for manual focusing is also very
good.

As for sharpness, I think it is sharper then 28-135 but not a whole lot. At
80mm 2.8 it is soft, but then you at least can take a picture at this
aperture compared to 28-135.

At least two other people (Yegey, and H. M,cClary is using this lens).

It is a very heavy duty lens as well. I recommend it.

Evrim
ps.
www.pdxswing.com , esp the last 1-2 months is pretty much all with this
lens. Though I would bve careful not to jump to conclusions based on web
graphics.
