My sister-in-law was getting married and my wife was handling the camera (I was on videotape duties). She came to me and said she needs new batteries (the LCD indicated "bc" or battery change). So I changed the batteries and check the camera out. The power comes back on, but the camera dies when I pushed the shutter. I thought I had put the "dead" batteries back in the camera, so I ran to the store and got another pair of batteries. Same thing.
I took the camera to a Canon authorized repair facility. They said they couldn't fix it and would have to send it to Canon. Cost: $250. Since that was nearly the cost of a new camera (pretty close to the cost of a Rebel 2000 body), I just told them to forget it. I eventually sold the dead camera on Ebay for $50 and bought a new Elan 7E. I guess it was a blessing in disguise :-). So you have to look on the bright side. At least you can have an excuse to get a new camera. * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
