Thanks for the reply, Henry. I guess my biggest fear is that I"ll buy a D60
from merchant A, and it will be months before the dealer gets one, and since
my credit card's already charged, I have no easy way to cancel my order if
merchant B(&H) gets one in, since I can't afford to pay for two of them and
wait for a refund for the order that I cancel.

I talked to several places today, and although I didn't find a camera, Ritz
told me that they only charge when you ship, and they have free shipping,
but have no clue when they might get some or even how many are on backorder.
Best Price Audio Video in Cleveland was very frank; he told me they were
still only getting one or two at a time instead of the 20-30 they're
ordering, and that their waiting list has 20+ people on it at present.

Amazingly, someone is selling "refurbished" ones on eBay for $1899, and
although they seem to have a lot of feedback, I'm curious that they have 4
or 5 for sale. It seems like one of those too good to be true stories, and
also hard to believe that there would be "refurbished" ones available
already.
