I don't want to start a war here, but does anyone know if one is better than

camera would make the better buy?
I am currently a Nikon owner, but I don't have prime lenses, so if I were in
the market, it could be
either Nikon or Canon as I have owned both.

I do not think one is necessarily better than the other. The Canon uses a
CMOS chip and the Nikon ises the SONY made CCD.
The latter receives high praise by many users as to the quality of the
output. On the Canon side I would not give up my 28-135mm IS lens so for me
its a wait and see game right now. I know pros who are using the D60 and
others who are using the Nikon D1X and other Nikon models. The real
favorite among many pros though is the Kodak DCS760. The only negatives to
that camera are its large, and there is no TTL for flash. Kodak did not
include it even though it was in the F5 body they based it on.
