I have the L-508, which is excellent, but it reads in half stops on the aperture scale, which drives me nuts when I shoot/bracket in 1/3 stop increments. I haven't wanted to trade up to the L-608, due to the cost difference, but if I were buying new now, I would probably spring for the L-608. I don't know much about the lower line units.
