I think you need to read the features and specification list, and
decide what's best for your needs and budget. For example - I bought
the L-508 (on sale during "Mamiya week" for something like $325) ,
mainly because it has a zoom spot with 1 capability. It's also a
flash meter, has memory/averaging, two ISO settings, multiple reading
modes, etc. I didn't get the 608 because I doubt I'll need wireless
slave triggering. There may have been other differences, but the 608
seemed over the top for my needs. The 508 is a great meter with very
little to complain about. You may haver different needs - sorry I
don't have 408 and 358 specs in fornt of me, but what I do when I'm
trying to make such a decision is print out the B&H specifications
page on various models and go sit in my "little room" and examine them
item for item. Then I try to find an example in a retail store to
handle and see how it feels. My only two ergonomic complaints about
the 508 are: the placement of the memory button is a little awkward,
and ISO 2 is a push-and-hold rather than truly switchable. Minor
factors in point of fact, and I'm getting used to the memory button.
