measure incident light, which even the 1V won't do (at least not without the
styrofoam cup incident light adapter). I would agree that trying to use a
new piece of gear for a big shoot is a recipe for disaster, although if
you're shooting it as an amateur, it may only be a waste of film. If it's
sunny, use the sunny 16 rule.

Geoff and Christopher

Having re-read my reply to Christopher, I think it sounds a little
patronising and it was not meant to be, apologies.

Geoff, are you saying "a separate meter can measure incident light, thus, it
will be better than TTL", because IME this is not necessarily the case.

The points I was, clumsily, trying to make were: both types of metering (TTL
or separate, whether reflected or incident) may require interpretation by
the photographer and correct exposure is not absolute.

So, Christopher, I wish you great success at Fairford (the weather forecast
is good) and don't let your metering dilemma spoil your day.

Craig Z
