Yes. The 1v comes with an old-style "laser matte" focussing screen, while the lower-end bodies come with "new laser matte" screens. The 1v's screen has a coarser texture on the focussing surface, which makes it dimmer but easier to focus manually (more "snap" into and out of focus). If this is a problem, then what you'll want to do is replace your 1v's screen with the screen from the EOS-3 (it's the same size and has the same AF and metering outlines). They're available B&H for about $25. Make sure to change the setting of CF0 when you do this, or your metering will be inaccurate, particularly with telephotos. I personally like the 1v screen a lot more, by the way - Back when I had an EOS 3 I used a 1v screen in it.
