Hi Bart,

So that's why it works for you.  Have you tried selecting the center AF
point with this 2x converter and your EF 70-200 4L to see if the AF works
faster compared to the outer AF points?  Just curious as I used EOS 5QD's
for a while before going to the EOS 1n family and found that if I
pre-selected the central AF point with ECF off the camera would AF
noticeably faster than using the AF points on the sides.  BUT I only figured
this out just before selling the last lens I had that was slower than f/2.8.
As I said I was just curious and wanted to know if the central cross sensor
was still working better then the single vertical sensors with this combo.
