Of course I haven't met the new Rebel Ti in person yet, but the jury is still out for me on it's design. It's funny too that many people didn't like the silver/aluminum on the Elan II so when they built the Elan 7, it was an all-black body. Now, they've pretty much done away with all the black parts of the Rebel 2000 body in favor of silver/aluminum tone. Hmmmm. And putting the LCD on the back ala the Maxxum 7 was, well, questionable. Maybe Canon did some research and found people like it there. I sure wouldn't if it was the camera's only LCD. And, having a digital SLR, I know the LCD is more at risk for damage there than on the top. Also, I think the specs indicate that it's smaller (!) than the 2000 and I know that getting a decent grip on the Rebel 2000 was an issue for some people. Maybe they'll come out with a battery pack/vertical grip...in silver tone no doubt.
