EOS 3 & 1V allow AF at f/8 which includes the Canon 2x. Faster shutter response time with the 3 & 1V. If you're using the 600, you're shooting birds and wildlife. You will have many more keepers with the 3 & 1V. AF is much better with the 3 & 1V.
