Hello dear Listeners. I'm new boy in the block, this is my first message to the List.
I used to be active Minolta user for about 5 years participating in Minolta Mailing list quite extensively until last about 6 months going off for personal reasons. Now I seriously consider switch to Canon and researching the online recourses available I currently settled up on EOS 3. Since I used to fast, quality lenses I'll try to keep the standards high stretching myself for 28-70/2.8 L USM. The telezoom will follow later. Right now I'm selling some of my Minolta gear on Ebay and hope to be able to raise some cash for used or new EOS 3 body soon. Since the money will be gained gradually, I'll not be able to purchase all the set (body + 38-70 + 550EX) in one move, will have to advance as fast as money will allow. I've heard some EOS 3 bodies suffered from about 2/3 or more underexposure in both domains: ambient and flash metering. However, there was some firmware upgrade released by Canon to fix it. How can I ensure the one particular body I buy doesn't suffer from this problem ? Perhaps some serial number series or something like that ? Now, if somebody here is planning to sell off his gear offering EOS 3 and/or the lens mentioned, I'll be grateful if you let me know.
