Hi Alex!

Welcome to the club.

Seems like you are in Israel? NOw sure what the availability of the
following is there...

If money is an issue, I can recommend couple alternatives that might help
you while you get the rest of the gear. EOS 3 is a great body, good choice.
Now that digital is all the rave, you might find good used ones pretty
reasonably!

I also think that a Tokina 28-80 2.8 ATX Pro is a viable alternative. It's a
bit soft on long end at 2.8, but not too bad. Built like a tank and silent.
I also simply LOVE the manual focusing ring/system on this lens.

As for flash, I love the 550ex but switched to Sigma Super 500 which I
really liked. It has pretty much everything 550ex has plus an optical slave
(and works with St-e2 AFAIK, correct me if I am wrong guys). I however
didn';t like this flash with digital Canon bodies. But since you have EOS 3,
you should be fine. That should save you couple hundred dollars and you can
get another nice lens with it. Some lenses that are considered pretty good
are : Tamron 20-40mm, Vivitar 100mm macro (and Sigma and Tamron macro's as
well), Canon 50mm 1.8 is something so cheap every photographer should have
it (about $80US).

Take care,
Evrim
