Hi guys, Today I had the opportunity to hold the new EOS-1Ds. To me this is just the camera that I was looking forward to:
11 Megapixels 45-point auto focus Full size sensor Compatible to all EOS lenses Too bad that is will cost Euro 10.000 (or $ 10.000), according to the Canon rep. But I do hope this will be my future camera sooner or later. Kodak introduced the Kodak DCS 14n, a 14 Megapix, full size sensor equipped camera that fits the current range of Nikon lenses. This camera is based on the Nikon F-100 specs regarding AF, lighting and software. According to the Kodak representative a Kodak DCS 14c might be the next development, although he tried hard to not mention it by name. The current 14n will cost about Euro 5000 (same in $). While strawling around the Photokina, I also got a chance to peek through a Canon EF 1200mm/f5.6. WOW ! What a toy !! Doe anyone have a clue on how much this lens would cost if ordered new from Conon ? What surprised me is that the AF on this lens is really slow. Looks like a Nikon lens (grin).
