Fero,
  Please note new messages go at the bottom on this list.  That way the
conversation will flow downward, thereby making it easier to read.
  The EOS 5 does use its own focus assist light instead of the flash's.
However, that only focus and note exposure.  What exposure mode are you
using (i.e., P, Av, Tv), and what metering mode are you using (center
weighted, spot, etc).
