The place I go these days (actually over the past 3 years) is Aden's Camera, 416-977-9711, located near Yonge and Dundas in the Downtown Toronto area, there are actually two stores within a minute walk of each other, go to the northern store and ask for Eddy, I have had many friends, neighbour and colleagues buy equipment there over the past few years and none have been disappointed. You should also note that as a foreigner, you will be able to reclaim the 7% Goods and Services Tax collected in all sales, you can pick up the form in airports.
