Hi Craig, Excellent idea regarding the D60, FEL and the 550EX. But perhaps they could just fix the problem in the first place? After all, I had a Canon FTb (very old SLR) and a lens mounted ring (canon) that relayed the focal distance to the flash, and that got exposures right all the time!
When photographing people with flash at night, I set flash exposure compensation to +.5, then FEL off the face.
