Hi Jim,

I have this lens for almost 8 years now (bought used for approximately $
45), optically it is so good that I did not feel the need to upgrade to
f/1.4 version.
If you already have ET65 hood (for your 85/1.8), this hoods also fits nicely
into 50/1.8 original - bigger than the lens standar hood, but better and no
vignetting.
