Depends on what you consider "great." For me the distance is more than
adequate so I find the ST-E2 great! Its just one more reason to stick with
Canon even though they are only now catching up to others in the digital
arena (Just my opinion and not bait, so let's not get in a pissing contest).

For me, there is never a time when I expect to use my flashes at more than
15 feet away indoors or out so the ST-E2 is  a perfect tool. If you need a
long distance trigger use something else as the ST-E2 was designed to simply
provide wireless E-TTL saving the photographer the trouble of running 15
foot wires.
