Personally, I would not say it is inferior. I have the same and the optics are every bit as good as the CANON and honestly at 200mm F2.8 slightly better than the Canon. On the downside, the AF is not as fast but for me its fine. I do not track Formula 1 race cars but have done much with it in sports and it works well.
