If I recall corretly you own an EOS 1, which I do also. I had the same
problem with mine, but I was able to fix it by adjusting the shutter
release stroke and tension. In the Canon manual it says that you can have a
Canon Service Center adapt the "feeling" of your shutter to your own
personal prefference. Upon reading this I tried to do it myself. I had to
remove the top cover of the camera body to gain access to the shutter
button. The "felling" of the shutter is determined by the stiffness and the
seperation of a couple off metal plates which are depressed by the shutter
button. Apparently, Canon can replace these parts with others with
different stiffness. I was able to readjust the existing parts, and now I
feel I have much more control over the shutter button.

And since we are all busy filling in our wish list:
I would really like to have an exposure meter that won't expose everything
as 18% grey. I know Nikon has some kind of RGB-meter, and I feel that it
must be possible to build a perfect exposure meter. Furthermore I'd like to
see a camera that can record exposure information for every frame. Finally,
how about a distance reading in the viewfinder, indicating the DOF-range
when you press the DOF-preview button?

Just my 2 cents,
Regards

Bart
