Hi Chip,

Our requirements are very similar as are the concerns we both seem to have
regarding it's suitability for action. I've been mainly testing resolution
and the features and function of both camera and software so far. The
resolution is amazing but I will have more on this when I have printed some
12" x 18" prints from the 1290. It's giving about 220 ppi out at that size.
I shot a few quick sequences out the back on continuous and was dismayed at
how slow it felt/sounded. I put the 1v on for comparison and it is almost
identical at the low speed advance setting. Focus acquision and lock seem as
good though. I have just tweaked the PF settings through the PC this
morning. Tomorrow I am taking it to the Eastern Creek circuit where some
motorbike racing will help me get a much better real-time feel for it. I'll
let you know more then and will put some examples you can relate to on a
webpage for you.

Regards, Tim
