Not really condemning it - I'm sure it'll be an excellent camera - but
rather in the same league as the D60 and D100 (both very good machines) -
just more pixels. On specifications alone it does not measure up to the 1ds
(30k shutter spec vs. 150k for the 1ds, non pro body and numerous other) and
image quality on Kodak's own site does leave some room for improvement (I
know these are just beta, but still...)
I still think the 1ds' real competition will be a Nikon FF at a competitive
price. Now, if Nikon can bring out a full frame F5 at say $5k-6k; that
should force Canon to match and should drag the 14n down to $2k-3k with, off
course d100/d60 going down as well. Nothing beats solid competition.
